This exhibit features photos from the garden of my former home in Philadelphia, PA, gardening ideas, and reflections on my experience as an urban gardener.

During my years as a family caregiver for my mother, gardening became not only a creative outlet but a method of self-care.    My small front and back yards became both places of solace and learning laboratories in companion planting and sustainable living.  It was also a way for me to continue a tradition that had been passed on from my maternal grandmother to my mother, and much to my surprise, to me.

During my gardening adventure, the front lawn transformed from this...

So relax. Listen to the garden sounds and tour this exhibit. I hope that you will enjoy the photos and that they inspire you to pursue your own gardening adventure.

In 2013, I had the privilege of being a guest in the Sandberg-Murray home and photographing their beautiful gardens.

By 2013 I was familiar with many of the basics of organic gardening, companion planting, and the "Three Sister" method of planting, however, during my stay in Nebraska, I was introduced to Hugelkutur and Permaculture.

This exhibit will feature photos from the Sandberg-Murray gardens as well as videos to help you start your own permaculture garden.

Note:  This exhibit is still in development so please visit often over the next few months
